I'm a disabled combat veteran. I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Since I got out of the army I couldn't find a job that suited me. Until I was surfing through the Internet and came upon a website called Military order of the purple heart service foundation. The program is called veteran's business training center. In this program you take a fifteen week course and they pay you to take it. The program is ran straight from home so you don't have to go no where. After graduation you get placed in a job working from the comfort of your own home.

Johnny showing off his muscles

My wife Christi

Not sure where to begin. But i served in the United States ARMY ( INFANTRY). I was stationed at Ft Hood Texas in which i was deployed twice. The first one was to GTMO Cuba for operation Enduring Freedom. There we had to escort the Taliban prisoners to there new home (a giant dog cage pretty much). I was there for 5 months then i came back to Ft. Hood. When I came home me and my wife finally got to move in together. Later that year(2002) my division got word that we were getting deployed to the gulf for operation Iraqi Freedom. I served all over the country until we set ground in Bayji Iraq. That town was a crazy place to be. It was nuts there i don't think the people liked us much at first then they got use to us i guess. on the morning of the 4th of June we were out on patrol and got ambushed by insurgents and a R.P.G ripped through our Bradley ramp ( the rear of the track) in which I got 2nd and 3rd degree burns and a lot of shrapnel wounds, but no one was killed. We got air lifted to the cash unit in Tikret. I stayed there for the day then i got flown to Kuwait. I was in Kuwait for 1 day then flown to Germany. When I got to Germany it was an unreal feeling. For 4 months i had to look every where and at everyone to keep me and my guys safe. Now here I am in Germany and my guys were over there getting them guys who hurt me. Its hard to explain I guess unless you have been in that situation. I guess the good thing out of this was I would be going home to my wife in like a month and we just found out she was pregnant when I left. So i stayed in Germany for a month and was sent home to Ft Hood. When i got home my wife did not recognize me. Well I reenlisted for Alaska and was up there for almost a year before I got medical ed out. After that I went back home to Maryland and got a job at a Nuclear Power plant. I worked there for a year and a half and we decided to move to Indiana where it was cheaper to live but I had no clue it was going to be this hard to fine employment. I was unemployed for like 4 months ( that sucked). But now I am in this program which has been a true blessing to me and my family. This is a pic of me when I left Germany. I am also going to Post some other links that I think come in handy. Have a GREAT DAY AND THANK YOU FOR READING.

MILITARY LINKS:

http://www.va.gov/
http://www.dav.org/
http://www.vfw.org/
http://www.military.com/

PTSD LINKS:

http://ncptsd.va.gov/topics/war.html
http://www.ptsdalliance.org/
http://nmhnih.gov/healthinformation/ptsdmenu.cfm

FOR INFORMATION ON THE TRAINING PROGRAM GO TO THE FALLOWING:

http://www.purpleheartfoundation.org/
